Qualifying for a World Championship is an amazing feat!
On Sunday morning a truck filled with equipment and a robot left for a trek of 1800 miles from Melrose to Houston, TX. This week Melrose High Students from the Red Hawk Robotics team will fly to Texas to compete in the Robotics World Championship. Teams from around the world will converge in Houston. The Red Hawks will compete against teams from across the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, Australia, United Kingdom, China, Netherlands, Dominican Republic, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.
The excitement of this team was palpable as they packed equipment and made last-minute adjustments before departing later this week.
Regardless of the outcome – these students and mentors should be proud of their skill and dedication. The Robotic Club, part of the STEM program, will serve them well in the future as we move towards robotics and artificial intelligence – they will be on the cutting edge.
All Melrosians should be proud of our own Red Hawk Robotics team! Good luck in Houston, we are cheering for you!
