Work Begins At Wyoming Hill Commuter Rail Station

If you've noticed construction at the MBTA's Wyoming Hill Commuter Rail station, here's what's happening.
The MBTA has officially begun a project to make the station fully accessible and improve the overall experience for riders. One of the most noticeable changes will be the construction of a new ADA-compliant ramp and mini-high platform, making it easier and safer for everyone — including people using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, or anyone with mobility challenges — to board the train.
The MBTA installed similar mini-high platforms at the Melrose Highlands station in 2006, and since then, it has been the only accessible commuter rail station in Melrose.
The project at Wyoming Hill will include:
- New ADA-compliant ramps and accessible boarding platforms
- Improvements to station accessibility and safety
- Modernized station infrastructure
- Tree canopy work to prepare the site for construction
The MBTA expects the project to be substantially complete by late fall.
A heads-up for commuters: During portions of construction, parking at Wyoming Hill Station may be limited, so plan ahead if you regularly park there.
These improvements are part of the MBTA's ongoing efforts to make its stations more accessible and welcoming for all passengers.
