A Grand Arrival on Main Street

The First United Methodist Church of Melrose joyfully welcomed a very special new member today — a baby grand piano!
This beautifully restored, 1950s-era black Steinway made its shining debut during this morning’s worship service. Under the talented hands of Music Director Rachel Hassinger, the instrument filled the sanctuary with a rich, resonant sound that seemed to breathe new life into the church’s historic space.
Pastor Reverend Travis Bonnette-Kim led a heartfelt consecration, blessing the piano as the choir and congregation joined their voices in song — a perfect harmony of faith, music, and community.
This beautiful instrument is a perfect addition to this stunning church with the most impressive stained glass windows.
The addition of this elegant Steinway marks a new chapter in the church’s vibrant musical ministry, ensuring that its timeless tones will uplift worshippers for generations to come. A lovely service, a beautiful instrument, and a community that continues to shine in both spirit and song.
